Welcome to West Virginia United Methodist Men
We seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually and to seek daily his will. Thus it is our mission to assist men to know Jesus Christ, so others can know Christ.
Our purpose is to make and engage men to be disciples of Jesus Christ and enable them to grow spiritually for the transformation of the world as given to us in the "The Great Commision."
The Great Commisson
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28: 16-20
Greetings from our President
Another business year comes to an end for the United Methodist Men of the West Virginia Conference. The year culminated with the United Methodist Men Conference; the election of new officers; the business session; recognition of the many ministries performed by men throughout the conference; worship and praise; and Circuit Rider 26 at Jackson’s Mill, Weston, West Virginia.
Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball once again honored us with her presence during the entire event, preached on Sunday Morning and served as Celebrant during the joint worship service with the scouts and United Methodist Men. What a blessing! The offering conducted during the joint worship service raised approximately $620 for the United Methodist Church Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Clean Water for Africa Initiative.
This year 618 Scouts and leaders attended Circuit Rider 26. The United Methodist Men provided the Saturday evening meal for all attendees; serving and dining with the campers, and gave a New Testament with the unique cover with the Circuit Rider 26 patch to each participant. What a great event!
Our program for this annual gathering was conducted by the Reverend Mike Daniels – Praying in the name of Jesus; what does that mean? The program was presented in two worship services; one on Friday night and the other on Saturday morning. The focus was on Matthew chapter 7, “ask in my name”.
The business session was concerned primarily with the funding of the conference and the election of a new slate of officers. The officers will begin their terms of office on October 1, 2014.
